Pump Station Bypass – Queensland

A local water authority recently asked NPE to provide a bypass for a pump station, the pump station needed to be taken offline to complete works.

The bypass needed to be capable of 75L/S, this was diverting flow from a DN900 line.

NPE mobilised the necessary pumps & pipework (200m) in a prompt manner delivering an effective solution as per the client’s needs. All discharge pipework (HDPE) was supplied and welded on-site to suit.

This bypass’s technical component was to achieve double isolation on the existing pipework. NPE was able to complete confined space entries into a 13m deep manhole safely to achieve this.

NPE included remote telemetry monitoring, providing a clear picture of the network’s equipment status and fluid level.

The weather was challenging, as 25mm of rain fell the night the system was commissioned. This had a significant impact on the network, but the pumping solution provided was able to handle the increased flow without surcharging or spilling.
