Dewatering – Rottnest WA
DM Civil engaged with NPE to assist with a Wellpoint Dewatering System for a new DN1200 emergency overflow storage tank for the North Thomson Sewerage Pump Station #06 on Rottnest Island in WA.
Rottnest Island is located 18km offshore from Fremantle and is only accessible by boat. The client required a dry site which was difficult as the excavation was below groundwater level. To create a dry and stable working environment, Wellpoint Dewatering can be utilised to lower and control groundwater levels in excavations. It is particularly suitable for pipeline construction, shallow foundations, and trench excavations.
NPE was able to freight a complete Dewatering System setup over to Rottnest Island by barge. Installation was completed and NPE monitored site conditions ensuring that the site stayed dry for the installation of an emergency overflow sewer storage tank.
